photos

Now one to more important things! I'm going to start selling prints of my photographs. Mostly beachy things since that is what I am. I'm one big beach. I'm at the beach every single day and see lots of nifty things to photograph. For example some rocks:

web page

I'm in the process of making myself a web page for my gallery. In the process, I've had to move all my pictures from my web space to photobucket. I'm almost done. YEAH. But what a task. I'm learning Dreamweaver and Fireworks as I go along my merry way. Its fun but I wish I could use what I learn for more than my own selfish purposes :)

I went to the art store last night and bough some more canvas. I should have some new work up early next week. Meanwhile I'll let you look at my "weed"

In search of identity...

I am in search of an identity that I can call my own. I love Merimekko and Kandinsky. I LOVE modern art and modern Scandinavian design.

I think living in Toronto and looking at Veljo Revell's testament to modern architecture did it to me even at a very young age. I always loved our city hall. I remember my mother telling me when I was a kid that the man who designed it was very famous and died before it was completed and never saw his master piece. How can it be, that one of the very best examples of modern Scandinavian architecture is in Canada? And that its been used in movies in scenes from the future? Its 40 years old this year and the very square in front of it that defines it is about to undergo renovations. Agh, the atrocity.

Somehow, I need to take this love of modern art and design and make it mine and define myself from it. And do it all in a single word. A word I can use in search words on ebay. Simple? No WAY!

ebay Traffic

My traffic is way down on my auctions. It really bums me out when that happens. Its hard to know what it is that either makes people look at your stuff or not look at your stuff.

I'm going to compile an email list of all my customers and start sending out a newsletter. I think marketing is the key, and right now, I know nothing really useful about marketing. This blog was suppose to be the start of something but I don't seem to have a lot of hits here either.

I'm really sick right now and thinking about marketing and such just makes my head spin. I need to sleep and get rid of this horrific cold/flu thing I have.

In the mean time, I have a new ACEO:

Frescos

I really like creating frescos. I love the tactileness of them and the three dimensionality. I've been finishing up a lot of them that I had started in the winter. They will be going up for auction shortly.

The fresco tuplips are really lovely and I don't think my photography does them justice. It was a hard decison to auction them off but hopefully someone will win them and love them as much as me. I believe they go live tonight at about 10:30 EST.

Enjoy

Mothers day

I have a whole bunch of work to photograph today that I'm going to list during the coming week. The very beginning is a ladybug ACEO that I think is super cute.

I've been sick this past week but painting away at things that have been partially done. I really want to finish up loose ends and then start some fresh stuff. There will be some really fun stuff coming up on ebay this week from me. Mostly things on canvas and lots 'o flowers.

I'm also thinking of testing the waters with some photographs I've taken over the years so watch for those too.

Anyhooo, here is the ladybug.

I needed a coffee

I needed a coffee in a bad kind of way the other night. But I can't, not at night, heart papiptations and and the complete and utter lack of sleep that comes with it added to my new found insomnia.

So I painted a ACEO of a cup of coffee. Its not a Hortons but it will due. The apple is to assuage the guilt that comes with having a coffee at 11:30 at night ;)

Feeling more positive today

Sorry about the downer post from yesterday. I'm feeling a wee bit more positive today as is evidenced by my shopping trip to the hell that is Walmart. ACK. Its a place where I only go at the bare minimum once every couple of months.

Anyhoo, i digress. I did a couple of really nice ACEO's yesterday that I'm going to put up on eBay once I cease being the human bed for Mr. Grumpy. Why is it my kids will only nap on top of me? Are they spoiled or WHAT?

My ACEO's are selling quite well. I'm happy. Not making any money at it but its at the very least an acknowledgement that someone out there somewhere does like what I paint.

I sold my very favorite tulip triptych today to a fellow Canadian. THANK YOU and I hope you love them as much as I do. The picture didn't do it justice.

Apple Green is my Favourite Colour

I love apple green. My livingroom is painted apple green. I told many people that I was going to paint it that colour and I could see people visably cringe. I LOVE it so who cares. Now that its done, loads of people comment on how wonderful it is. I guess most people can't picture colour as it will be once its done.

Now that has lead me to a new obsession. Painting apple trees. This one will be going up on ebay shortly. I just LOVE it. The centre of the apples are pertty much the colour of my livingroom ;)
